About this campground
Off to Derbyshire for trips to Buxton, Bakewell and beyond? The Bull i' th' Thorn is located just off the A515, making it a doddle to zip from one end of the Peaks to the other and be back in time for tea. This peaceful park is set deep in the Peak District and comes with the sweeping views to prove it. The friendly site managers are keen to point out that muddy boots are welcome at this outdoorsy spot – handy indeed given that the car-free Tissington Trail is opposite the site. After days packed with outdoor exploring, you’ll likely appreciate The Bull i' th' Thorn's hot showers (a separate shower room is available for families travelling with young kids).

There are also three water points and an outdoor washing-up area for self-catering sorts. There is a pub on site, open between Wednesday and Sunday, which has a pizzeria and a large-screen TV to broadcast major sporting events. It serves food between 12pm and 9pm on Wednesdays to Saturdays and between 12pm and 8pm on Sundays. Breakfasts are also up for grabs on Saturday and Sunday mornings during high season only. Three other pubs are handily within walking distance for days when you'd like to eat out, with the nearest less than a mile away. The site is also a few minutes’ stroll from Tagg Lane Dairy, a family-run gelateria that uses raw milk straight from their pampered Jersey dairy herd. The site has unisex toilets and showers; extra toilets are available in the pub when it's open.
