About this campground
Section 29 Lake Rustic Campground is a small four-site campground located on the shore of Section 29 Lake in Superior National Forest. The lake spans 100 acres with a maximum depth of 20 feet and offers fishing opportunities for walleye, northern pike, rock bass, pumpkinseed, and other species. A drive-down boat ramp provides water access directly from the campground. The northeast portion of Section 29 Lake was affected by the 2011 Pagami Creek Fire, and visitors should exercise caution around standing burnt trees in the fire area. This rustic campground offers first-come, first-served camping at no charge.

Each site can accommodate up to nine people and has space for one vehicle plus one towed vehicle such as a boat trailer. OHV ride-in and ride-out opportunities are available, and the campground provides access to several other small lakes nearby, most with carry-down access. There is no garbage service, so visitors must pack out all trash including fish remains.
