Situated at approximately 5,715 feet elevation in the Truckee Ranger District, this primitive campground provides a quiet retreat for campers seeking basic amenities and easy access to water recreation. The reservoir setting provides opportunities for fishing, boating, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada.

The area is surrounded by coniferous forest typical of the Tahoe National Forest. Due to its elevation and location in the Sierra Nevada, the campground is typically accessible only during the warmer months when snow has melted and access roads are clear. Winter conditions bring significant snowfall that closes the campground and surrounding roads seasonally.
