About this campground
Wolf Hollow Campground is a remote, primitive campground located on the northeast edge of the Gila Wilderness in the Black Range Ranger District. The campground features six tent-only sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet is available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own. The campground is approximately 90 miles from Truth or Consequences via New Mexico Highway 52 and Highway 59, followed by Forest Road 150 and County Road 59. The campground serves as the trailhead for Wolf Hollow Trail #773, a 4.6-mile one-way hike to Black Mountain that accesses the northern portion of the Gila Wilderness.

A steel equestrian corral is provided for horse camping. Due to rough forest roads with slow speeds and tight turns, high clearance vehicles are recommended. OHVs and ATVs are prohibited in the campground, as are hunting and shooting. Stock animals are not allowed in the immediate campground area but may use the corral. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees and a 14-day stay limit.
