Stewart Campground is a cool, shady streamside camp situated along Cave Creek in the scenic Chiricahua Mountains of Coronado National Forest. The campground sits under a canopy of Arizona cypress and sycamore trees, providing natural shade and a peaceful atmosphere. Cave Creek Canyon is renowned as one of Arizona's premier birding destinations, and the campground offers direct access to the Cave Creek Nature Trail and South Fork Trail, both excellent for bird watching.

A spur trail across the road connects to the Cave Creek Nature Trail, while the Cathedral Vista Trail is a short distance up canyon, providing an easy stroll with minimal elevation change that rewards hikers with unobstructed views of Cave Creek Canyon. The campground features pull-in sites, making it one of the better options along Cave Creek for RV camping, though trailers are limited to 16 feet or less with no hookups available. Black bears are present in the area, so visitors must store and dispose of all food and garbage in bear-safe containers and trash receptacles, or keep items locked in vehicles. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Facilities include vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump, though water is turned off during winter months after the first freeze. Located 150 miles east of Tucson, the campground is accessible via paved roads suitable for passenger vehicles.
