The park's 4,600 surface acres of water and 60 miles of shoreline make it a premier destination for boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. Lake Pueblo is rated as a fishing hot spot by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. With a mild year-round climate and sunny weather, visitors enjoy swimming at designated beaches, hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding. The park maintains a 14-day maximum stay within any 28-day period. Reservations are required and can be made up to six months in advance through cpwshop.com or by phone. Check-in is at 1 p.m. and check-out is at noon. Park gates are open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Leashed pets are welcome in campgrounds. Firewood gathering is prohibited to protect the 200-year-old juniper trees, but firewood is available for purchase at the Visitor Center.
