About this campground

Lake Greenwood State Park Campground sits along nearly a mile of shoreline on 11,400-acre Lake Greenwood in South Carolina's Piedmont region. The campground features 125 paved sites, each equipped with water and 50-amp electrical hookups, picnic tables, and accommodating RVs up to 40 feet in length. Many sites offer lake views and easy access to the water, with some positioned so close that anglers can fish directly from their campsite. All campsites are conveniently located near hot showers and modern restrooms. The park encompasses over 900 acres of hardwood forests and gently rolling hills, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression.

Visitors can explore the 4.21-mile scenic shoreline trail, launch boats from two ramps, fish from a dedicated pier, or enjoy picnic shelters overlooking the lake. The park's Drummond Center features South Carolina's only CCC museum with exhibits showcasing original tools, photographs, and stories from the young men who built 16 of the state's original parks. A primitive group camping area accommodates organized groups up to 50 people. The park operates dawn to dusk daily, with the office open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., extended during daylight saving time.
