The park's beach area is ideal for beach exploration, kite flying, kayaking, paddleboarding, and windsurfing, though visitors should be aware that Padilla Bay becomes a large mud flat during low tides due to significant tidal action. Fires are allowed in designated fire pits and grills. Adjacent to the park is the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, encompassing over 11,000 acres of protected habitat including open waters, eelgrass beds, intertidal bays, and salt marsh. The Breazeale Padilla Bay Interpretive Center, located just half a mile from the park, offers aquarium exhibits and hands-on activities about the estuarine environment. The park is open year-round and offers winter camping opportunities.
