The area features three National Nature Trails and a multi-purpose fitness trail for hikers. Wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and numerous bird species. The William Carl Garner Visitor Center, located west of the dam, showcases exhibits and a replica of the world record 40-pound, 4-ounce brown trout caught in the Little Red River. With eighteen parks around the shoreline providing boat ramps, swim areas, and marinas, Mill Creek serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the entire Greers Ferry Lake recreation area.
