About this campground
Natick Horse Camp provides a peaceful camping experience in Nebraska National Forest at Halsey, situated at the junction of hand-planted forest and native grasslands. This 17-unit campground is specifically designed for equestrian camping, featuring 20 corrals for riding stock with a windmill tank for livestock watering. The facility includes modern vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site, plus a hand pump that provides non-potable water suitable for animals. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring both the historic hand-planted forest and surrounding grasslands on horseback.

Riders can access various trails and use designated gate locations to ride off-road in permitted areas. The remote location offers outstanding night sky viewing away from light pollution. All livestock must be fed certified weed-free hay and kept in corrals; portable panels and electric fencing are not permitted. Campers should clean corrals after use with the provided wheelbarrow. Natick operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $15 per night with a self-pay system. No ATV or side-by-side riding is allowed from this campground. Dogs must remain under owner control at all times and are not permitted to swim in the livestock watering tank. The campground is accessed via Highway 2 and Forest Road 212, approximately 7 miles from State Spur 86B.
