About this campground
Whitetail Campground is the only free campground on the Little Missouri National Grassland in western North Dakota. Located in the wooded area of Whitetail Creek Drainage, this 10-unit facility offers a primitive camping experience with all campsites accessible by walk-in only. A large parking area accommodates vehicles of all sizes including trailers. The campground provides basic amenities including fire grates at each site, picnic tables, and one vault toilet. No water or electricity is available on-site, so campers must bring their own water and be self-sufficient.
