Goose Lake Campground is located in the stunning Lakes Basin Recreation Area of Plumas National Forest at 6,700 feet elevation. The campground features 13 campsites situated along the shores of Goose Lake, offering breathtaking mountain scenery and direct access to pristine alpine waters perfect for paddling and fishing. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, food locker for bear-safe storage, and parking for up to two vehicles. The campground provides vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own. Access to some campsites is via rough unpaved roads, adding to the rustic character of the location.

The Lakes Basin Recreation Area is renowned for its concentration of over 20 scenic alpine lakes, most accessible via an extensive network of hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails. The area offers exceptional opportunities for day hikes, wildlife viewing, photography, and backcountry exploration. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis during the season, with a 14-day stay limit and maximum of 6 people per site.
