About this campground
Lake Como Campground, also known as Lower Como, is one of three campgrounds in the Lake Como Recreation Area located between Darby and Hamilton in the Bitterroot National Forest. The campground features a single paved loop with 12 sites including 8 single sites and 2 double sites, all offering 125-foot pull-through spaces designed for recreational vehicles. Every site includes electrical and water hookups, making this a particularly RV-friendly destination. The campground is set within a stand of mixed pine and fir trees with a grass understory that provides good privacy between campsites. Three sites are ADA accessible, and four accessible vault toilets are located throughout the campground.

Water and garbage services are provided during the operating season. Lake Como Recreation Area offers diverse recreational opportunities centered around the 913-acre lake. Visitors can relax on the large sandy beach, swim in the designated swimming area, or explore by kayak and paddleboard. Motorized boats can be launched from the boat launch dock area on the opposite shore. The 8-mile Lake Como Loop Trail provides stunning views and access to a waterfall at the west end of the lake, with additional mountain bike trails on the south end. The area is bear country, and proper food storage is required from March 1 through December 1 annually.
