About this campground

Nestled in the Rio Grande National Forest along the Conejos River, Conejos Campground serves as a quieter overflow option for the nearby Spectacle Lake Campground. This small loop campground offers a handful of tent sites among the trees, providing a more intimate camping experience for those seeking solitude in the high country. The campground provides access to excellent fishing opportunities on the Conejos River and nearby Spectacle Lake, which is open year-round for fishing including winter ice-fishing. Hiking enthusiasts can access Spectacle Lake Trail 730, which begins half a mile south on Forest Road 250, as well as Ruybalid Trail 855 and Notch Trail 729.
