About this campground
Doe Point Campground is a remote and picturesque campground located in old-growth forest on the northern shore of Fish Lake in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. At 4,639 feet elevation, the campground offers 25 standard campsites and 5 walk-in tent sites, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Fir and pine trees provide ample shade during hot afternoons, and select sites offer lake views. Fish Lake is a 483-acre reservoir supplied by over 45 underground volcanic streams, offering excellent fishing opportunities. The lake has a 10 mph speed limit, and boaters can access the water via a boat launch at the adjacent Fish Lake Campground.

The southern shore provides stunning views of Mount McLoughlin and is bordered by a 2,000-year-old lava flow from Brown Mountain. Note that as a reservoir used for irrigation, water levels may be low in August and September. The campground provides excellent access to numerous hiking trails, including the Fish Lake Trail, High Lakes Trail, Brown Mountain Trail, and the famous Pacific Crest Trail. The Sky Lakes Wilderness and Mt. McLoughlin Trail systems are also within easy reach. Additional amenities are available at nearby Fish Lake Resort. Other nearby campgrounds include Fish Lake Campground, North Fork Campground, Willow Prairie, Whiskey Springs, and Fourbit Ford Campgrounds.
