About this campground
Overview Deadman Hole has five first come, first served campsites, and two walk-in campsites adjacent to the scenic Upper Salmon River. Anglers have access to great fishing opportunities. Amenities include restrooms, picnic shelters and tables, drinking water, ample parking and a boat ramp. This site has limited cell service. The site is named after the ill-fated story of gold prospector, Isaac T. Swim, from the 1880's. In search of gold, Swim forded the Salmon River during high water conditions and was never seen again. Later that year, an unidentified body, presumed to be Swim, was found
