About this campground
Davidsonville Historic State Park Campground combines frontier history with modern camping amenities on the site of one of Arkansas's most significant early settlements. Established in 1815, Davidsonville was home to Arkansas Territory's first post office, courthouse, and land office. Today, the campground offers 24 sites ranging from full hookup RV sites to primitive tent camping. The campground features 11 Class AAA sites with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups, 8 Class A sites with water and 50-amp electric, and 5 primitive Class D tent sites. Modern restrooms with showers remain open year-round.

The park borders the Black River and features Trapper Lake, both offering excellent fishing opportunities with jon boat rentals available at the visitor center. Campers can explore several trails including the Historic Townsite Trail, which winds through archaeological sites still revealing streets, foundations, and artifacts from the original settlement. The visitor center showcases a replica 1820s hunter-trapper flatboat and displays historic finds from ongoing excavations. With picnic areas, pavilions, and interpretive programs available year-round, the park offers a unique blend of history and outdoor recreation in northeast Arkansas.
