The campsite is the ideal base to explore the sandy beaches and nature reserves on the coast as well as the South and West Lake District National Park. Alternatively, stroll through the grounds of the ancient Furness Abbey. Take a short ferry trip to Piel Island, drink with the ‘King of Piel’ then look out for seals on North Walney Nature Reserve. Visit the castle in Dalton in Furness or take a short drive to the market town of Ulverston, visit the many quaint shops along its cobbled streets and hike up to the Hoad monument. These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more.
