About this campground
Confederate Memorial State Historic Site preserves the grounds of what was once the Confederate Soldiers Home of Missouri, which provided refuge to more than 1,600 Civil War veterans and their families from 1891 to 1950. Today, the 135-acre site offers reservable picnic shelters along with diverse recreational opportunities including fishing at six ponds, disc golf, and extensive walking and biking trails along the park road. Visitors can explore the restored chapel and Confederate cemetery while enjoying the peaceful, tree-filled grounds. The site serves as both a historical memorial and a functional park space with multiple picnic areas and playgrounds.
