This area is also known as “Skates Canyon”. Officially, the road that runs through this popular boondocking area is Forest Road 4078U. This camping area offers some well-shaded sites from tall Ponderosa Pine, but also others with full sun for those relying on solar power. The town of Mimbres is 13.5 miles to the south.
