The campsite Lichtenberg, which is open all year round, is located in the heart of the Frankenwald and is recommended by both the ADAC and the DCC. About 190 pitches for permanent campers and tourists are located on the 2.7 hectare area, each plot having a size of 70-100 square meters. All pitches are connected to the electricity and water supply. The sanitary facilities housed in a heated building consist of ten toilets, eight showers and a single wash cabin. Furthermore, the camping guests have four dishwashing basins, two wash basins and a washing machine. The sports facilities of the site include a beach volleyball court and a table tennis table.

After a few minutes' walk you can reach the Frankenwald lake, where bathing is allowed at your own risk, as well as a children's playground. Shopping facilities and restaurants are about 1.5 kilometers away. Numerous hiking trails run in the vicinity and a visit to the Schaubergwerk Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stollen is worthwhile.
