Camping y Cabañas LikanTur

If the fish aren't biting or you're less keen on eating them, the site is under five minutes' drive from a small supermarket and a restaurant serving specialities of Chile’s indigenous Mapuche people, whose heartland this is. When you feel it’s time to shake a leg and burn off some of that filling regional nosh, you’ll only need to stroll down to the lake for active stuff like windsurfing, sailing and swimming. If anyone small is wearying of the waters and wants some time back at base, there’s a kids' playground and table tennis to keep them out of mischief. Hikes and horse rides make a good alternative way to see the lake, its hilly surrounds and proud indigenous communities, with stopoffs to snack on Mapuche munchies like enormous sauteed pine nuts in smoky merkén sauce, sour green plums and the local tipple, chica.
