About this campground
Welcome to Camping Rote Schleuse! Established in 1955, this campsite is nestled in a forest area just outside Lüneburg. The site includes a large meadow for caravan and motorhome guests, and a mixed forest area for tent campers. The campsite's location and family-friendly atmosphere have made it a hidden gem. In 1997, we fulfilled our dream and took over Rote Schleuse. Since then, we've added many new features. The historic main house now has a conservatory, a biological swimming pond has been created, and a new sanitary building has been erected. Despite these changes, we've maintained what's most important to us: the family atmosphere, manageability, and beautiful location.

We look forward to your visit, the Muckenhirn family. Camping Rote Schleuse is located near a river, a lake, a sandy beach, and a pebble beach. It offers shaded and unshaded pitches, and rentals for mobile homes, hikers' cabins, and rooms. The campsite also features a playground, sports ground, and various cycle routes for active holidaymakers. After a busy day, you can relax at our beauty centre or take a swim in the nearby river or lake. If you don't feel like cooking, we have a pizzeria and a restaurant with a full menu. We also provide fresh bread.
