About this campground
Camping Losheim am See, located in the heart of Saarland, Germany, is a traditional campsite under new management since 2021. The 10-hectare site, previously dominated by permanent camping, is being transformed into a modern camp. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers, families, and active holidaymakers. The campsite is nestled in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, with a lake for swimming, sailing, and stand-up paddling right next door. The Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, one of Germany's best hiking trails, is just a stone's throw away. The campsite is also adjacent to the vast Hunsrück forests, offering countless hiking routes and biking tracks.

Camping Losheim am See is a perfect starting point for numerous excursions. It's just 25 minutes to Saarschleife, half an hour to Trier or the Völklinger Hütte World Heritage Site, and 45 minutes to the ancient Celtic ring of Otzenhausen. Luxembourg and the French city of Metz are just an hour away. For the summer season of 2022, the number of tourist pitches has been increased to over 400, while still offering 150 spots for permanent camping. The first 10 of a planned 30 tiny houses will be available for rent from summer onwards. The campsite also operates a large glamping camp in collaboration with Domo Camp. Major renovations began in 2021 and will continue through 2023 and 2024. The main building, sanitary facilities, camping pitches, rental accommodations, reception, and catering area are all being revamped. Future plans include a sauna and a seminar house. The campsite offers unique accommodation options, including refurbished vintage caravans from the 1960s. A beautiful sandy beach with water sports facilities is located close to the campsite. The popular lake offers activities like diving, sailing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing, and pedal boating.
