Bowfield FarmWe are a traditional working livestock farm located on the borders of Durham, Cumbria and North Yorkshire Dales. We offer a small camping and caravanning site with or without electric hook up, modern toilet and shower facilities and also a modern holiday home for hire on a weekly basis.We look forward to welcoming you to our small but perfectly formed site and guarantee you a wonderful timeOur farm stands at 800ft above sea level over looking the Stang forest with mile upon mile of breathtaking views over towards Swaledale we are centrally located just 3 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle with the famous Bowes Museum and only a short drive to High Force, England’s highest waterfall and also the medival Raby Castle. For those wishing to venture further the Lake District, York, Durham and Newcastle are all within 1 hours drive. We have opened up our farm to visitors as it is wonderful place to visit and we have tried to make it a place where we would like to visit, our toilet facilities are modern and have plenty of hot water and regular cleaning/ checking ensures you have a pleasant stay, our electric hook ups are 16 amp and we don’t charge for an awning and you can bring the dog for free as well! This is a working farm set in 150 acres with over 300 sheep and 150 cattle so please be aware that animals make noise and smells and that at certain times of the year we are busy and therefore there may be some noise from the tractors but we do make sure that all our guests have a wonderful time and if we have time you are more than welcome to have a tour of the farm and see some of our animals. A great place to relax and unwind the kids will love being able to run around, we have a football pitch and a play area is planned for 2012 along with a visitors information center.
