About this campground
Our home is 9 minutes from DE rt 1, in a suburban/rural area with a walking-friendly neighborhood across the street and woods with trails in the backyard. Your camping spot is in our driveway near the garage (optional water and electric) - this is the main spot detailed in all of our provided info. If you have a smaller rig and the ground is not wet/snowy, you could park in our backyard near the woods/firepit/chicken coop (optional water hook up only and the rooster might wake you up!). We homeschool our children and enjoy learning about our world by meeting people from many different places and backgrounds.

Things to do - - 3 Palms Zoo - 10 minutes away, rescue zoo with Delaware's only alligator - Dover, DE (capital city) is 20 minutes away - historic downtown Dover museums and monuments, Dover Downs hotel/casino/racetrack - Delaware beaches - 50 minutes to 1.5 hours away depending on the beach you choose. We like Lewes Beach for little kids, Cape Henlopen State Park for nature and WWII history, and Rehoboth Beach for the boardwalk experience - Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge - about 30 minutes away, migratory bird watching, driving tour with lookouts and several short hikes - Blackbird State Forest - 10 minutes away, hiking trails - State parks in northern Delaware - about 1 hour away, Alopocas Run and Brandywine Creek State Park and both beautiful to visit (these are some of our favorites but all of Delaware's state parks are wonderful) - Gardens/Mansions - about 1 hour away, DuPont estates Longwood Gardens and Winterthur and beautiful at any time of the year - biking - we recently biked the C&D Canal trail and loved it! Beautiful mostly flat paved trail. - our favorite playgrounds= big oak Park and New Castle County Southern Park - Byler's Amish discount groceries/stove shop/furniture/ice cream/coffee shop in Dover
