About this campground
Beaver Creek Equestrian Camp is a primitive camping facility designed specifically for horseback riders visiting Beaver Creek State Park in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Located off Sprucevale Road, the campground features 59 primitive non-electric sites equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, and tie-ups for horses. The facility includes vault latrines and a shelter house serving the equestrian community. The campground provides direct access to an extensive network of bridle trails that wind through the park's 2,722 acres of forest wilderness.

Riders can explore trails along Little Beaver Creek, a state and national wild and scenic river, and encounter historic remnants of the Sandy and Beaver Canal including locks and lock keepers' houses. The equestrian camp is separate from the park's family campground and caters to those bringing horses to enjoy the park's riding opportunities. Campers should note that no potable water is available at the equestrian camp, and there are no shower facilities. Well water may be available on a limited basis to fill small containers (up to 5 gallons), but no water hookups exist for RVs or trailers. All sites require advance reservations through the Ohio State Parks reservation system.
