Rules & Regulations Quiet Hours • Quiet hours are enforced from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. • During this time, reduce noise, turn down music, and shut off generators. • Please respect other campers at all times. Zero Tolerance Policy • Violence, harassment, profanity, or threats toward staff will not be tolerated. • Violations may result in immediate eviction and possible ban. Vehicle Passes • $35 seasonal vehicle pass per household. • $2 per person (age 4+), children 3 and under free. • Day visitors must park in designated areas only. • No parking in campsites or along the pond. • Speed limit is 10 km/h and strictly enforced. Campsite Permits • Must be 19+ to rent or occupy a campsite (ID required). • Permits are non-transferable. • Check-in: 2:00 PM | Check-out: 1:00 PM. • Minimum 3-night stay on holiday weekends. Reservations & Cancellations • Bookings are made through Let's Camp. • Booking fees are non-refundable. • 48+ hours notice: full refund minus $5 reservation fee & $5 credit card processing fee • 24 hours notice: 50% refund. • No-shows receive no refund. Protection & Preservation of Property • Do not damage trees, signage, or park property. • Do not pollute water sources. Use designated garbage areas only. • Disorderly conduct is not permitted. Fire Safety • Follow provincial fire regulations. • No campfires during fire bans; propane pits may be allowed. • Fires must be attended and fully extinguished. • Do not burn garbage. Wildlife Protection • Do not harm, disturb, or feed wildlife. Firearms & Dangerous Substances • Firearms and weapons are not permitted. • No poisons or harmful substances allowed. Pets • Pets must be leashed and under control. • Owners must clean up after pets. Alcohol, Tobacco & Cannabis • Alcohol is only permitted at your campsite. • Legal drinking age is 19+. • No smoking in buildings. • Cannabis must be used discreetly. Visitor Rules • Campers are responsible for their visitors. • Visitors must follow all park rules. ATV Use • Only campers may operate ATVs. • Use only for travel between campsite and beach. • Follow speed limits and traffic rules. • No ATV use during quiet hours. Swimming • Swimming at both the ocean beach and freshwater pond is at your own risk. • No lifeguards are on duty. • Watch for currents in ocean areas. • No inflatables in salt water. • Children must be supervised at all times. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Property • The park is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings. Refund Policy • Refunds only for emergencies or special circumstances. • No refunds for early departures, passes, or no-shows. • Evictions result in no refund.
About this campground
Banting Memorial Campground is a popular destination in central Newfoundland just an hour from Gander. With its spectacular sandy beach, warm atmosphere, and beautiful scenery, it's a must-visit for anyone looking to relax and explore the beauty of the Kittiwake Coast. Located only 10 km from Musgrave Harbour along Route 330, the park is named after Sir Frederick Banting, co-discoverer of insulin, who tragically died in a plane crash just outside Musgrave Harbour in 1941. The park is a perfect getaway for the whole family.
