About this campground
Balranald Hebridean Holidays is a family run campsite located on the picturesque west coast of North Uist in the heart of the RSPB’s Balranald Nature Reserve. Located beside a beautiful sandy beach, the site is an ideal base for exploring Uist and is a bird watchers paradise with a huge variety of wading and farmland birds nesting on the flower-rich machair and croft land. Horseshoe Bay is only 40m from the site entrance and is great for walking, kite surfing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and watching the sunset on an evening.Our Corncrake Pod is a glamping pod located in the heart of the Balranald Nature Reserve and is ideal for seeing and hearing corncrakes and other wildlife.

It is located beside a beautiful sandy beach.Sleeping 2 people (in 2 single beds), it has a kettle, microwave, fridge, electric heater, crockery and cutlery (but no cooking utensils). Duvet, pillows and bed linen are provided. Please bring your own towels. Toilets, showers, dishwashing and laundry facilities are only a short walk from the pod.Dogs are allowed in the pod (a maximum of 2 per stay) and are charged at £5 per dog. Smoking is not permitted in the pod.The Dunes Cabin, based onsite from April to the end of September, serves delicious scallop and bacon rolls, homemade soups, filled sandwiches and rolls and home baking.
