Today, many shops display Royal Warrants and the town celebrates Victoria Week annually in August. The southern border of Ballater is formed by the River Dee, one of Scotland’s finest salmon rivers, and adjacent to the river lies Ballater Caravan Park. The park caters not only for caravans and motorhomes but also offers great facilities for camping. The park is located half of a mile from the centre of Ballater with its variety of shops and restaurants and just one quarter of a mile from the golf and bowling clubs. Failure to contact the wardens may result in the loss of the pitch allocated.The Caravan Park has 36 numbered hard standing touring pitches with electric hook up and 40 un-numbered grass pitches without electricity for tents, touring caravans or motor-homes.
