The scent of fresh hay accompanies you in summer. The highlight is the view of our listed mill tower and the sunsets from there - best enjoyed with a crackling campfire. Depending on the season, you can pick fruit from our trees and bushes: apples, pears, cherries, plums, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, currants... We'd love for you to visit us! Here, you'll find two things: the peace and quiet of country life, and the sounds of country life: We have a small tractor that helps us with our work, we even mow the lawn, Luis crows whenever he wants, the owls are nocturnal, and during the day, you'll hear the kestrels circling over our cottage. Every now and then, we'll sneak through the scene, working on something—but don't let that get to you :) If you fancy a fire in the evening, feel free to ask us about our fire bowl. A box of wood costs 5 euros. *** We have a barrel sauna that you are welcome to use after consulting with us! Prices: 2.5 hours cost 15 euros for one person. Each additional person costs 5 euros. If you would like to stay in the sauna for longer, you will pay 3 euros per person for each additional hour. You can borrow hand and sauna towels from us if needed. *** I've put together a little booklet for you with things worth seeing and experiencing, which you can use to inspire you. Here are a few first impressions: *** Several beautiful cycling and hiking routes run alongside our mill—either directly into the industrial heritage (you'll have to cycle for a bit) or into the natural surroundings of the Münsterland region. The start of the Werse Cycle Path is very close by. You can also start the 100 Castles Route from here. *** Swimming and hiking lakes with beautiful forest areas can also be found in the surrounding area: Swimming lakes within 23-35 km Hiking lakes within 20-35 km *** There are also some forests in the area - accessible by bike. *** You can go fishing on the Werse in Drensteinfurt - 10 km away. *** By car or train, you can quickly reach Münster, Dortmund, and Hamm, or you can visit small, typical Münsterland towns. In my opinion, Münster, in particular, is worth a day trip. And Holland isn't far away either. And, of course, the Ruhr region with its industrial heritage. *** If you're looking for day trips with your children, here are some tips: In Münster, there's a wonderful all-weather zoo, a planetarium, the Mill Museum, and the Aasee Lake, where you can go pedal boating. In Hamm, there's the Maxipark. *** Swimming pool 10 km away in Drensteinfurt (nice cycle path) Great sauna and indoor pool in Ahlen - 10 km away (nice cycle path) *** Canoe tours on the Werse or the Lippe (entry 20-35 km away). *** Grocery stores are 1 km away. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen, and Hamm are 10 km away (nice bike paths lead there). *** You will find numerous opportunities to enjoy a cozy meal in Ahlen and Drensteinfurt *** If you wish, you can order breakfast from us. *** Our mill isn't located in the truly authentic hinterland, devoid of any sounds of civilization. However, most of the street noise is filtered out by the farm building path that runs between "your" garden and the road that runs about 100 meters in front of our farm. There's also a field that's seasonally cultivated with corn or grain.
