About this campground
Located on the west side of the Chiricahua Mountains at 6,200 feet elevation, Sycamore Campground straddles the banks of West Turkey Creek, a small perennial stream that cascades into the campground down a series of small waterfalls and through a rocky cleft. In spring and summer, wildflowers decorate the rocky terrain, while the riparian forest provides cool shade year-round. Sycamore Falls is a short walk upstream from the campground, though there is no official trail to the waterfall. The campground features 8 individual campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire pit, and bear-proof food locker. This is black bear country, so proper food storage is required.

The perennial water flow through this wooded canyon creates a lush year-round recreation destination on the edge of the Chiricahua Wilderness, making it an excellent base for hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and backpacking adventures. The campground's remote location and small size create an intimate camping experience surrounded by the diverse ecosystems of the Sky Islands region.
