Anderson Lake West - Gwinn State Forest

Anderson Lake West operates year-round within Michigan's state forest system, providing basic amenities including drinking water from a pump, restrooms, and a boat launch. The campground has been reduced in size from its original footprint, creating a more compact layout with fewer sites than previously available. Campers can access hiking trails and an interpretive nature trail developed by an Eagle Scout project. The facility lacks electrical hookups but allows campfires and pets throughout the property. A convenience store sits four miles away for supplies, while the lake offers limited beach access for those expecting extensive shoreline recreation.
