Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS Check in is after 2PM and Check out is before 11AM We are located between the Villages of Etlan and Banco in Madison County, Virginia. Our driveway is 3 miles south of Etlan and 2 miles north of Banco off Route 231 (FT Valley Road) and is directly across from Poorhouse Road. Driving and walking directions to SPARROW camp: Our address is 2450 S. F T (Francis Thornton) Valley Road, Etlan, VA 22719. (Please make sure GPS does NOT send you to Fort Valley, this is one hour from our farm). The driveway is directly across from Poorhouse Road. Come up hill and go through gates with Animal Welfare Approved sign. Go approximately 1/4 mile, you'll see a sign that says car camping and farm store. Stay straight towards farm store. Continue to cabin and pond, go across the bridge and stay right continue past the dirt piles, future garden site and you’ll see a little parking area just over to the right near the edge of the woods. Sign says parking for Sparrow and Fiddlehead Camps. If you look towards the barn/farm store you'll walk to the right side, follow the dirt trail where you parked (kind of an unfinished circle back to the barn and around the garden area) into the wooded area. You will see a sign that says BLUE QUARTZ TRAIL. Follow that trail 0.1 mile up to THE LAUREL TRAIL. Turn left and go a short distance, you'll see a sign for SPARROW CAMP. Follow the path to the campsite. There is NO check in procedure. Feel free to go straight to camp. An ETA is appreciated so we can attempt to be around when you arrive, in case you may have questions. We highly advise arriving before dark. Check-in for this site is BEFORE 8PM unless prearranged. Please also note that cell service is limited in the area. AT&T and Verizon have one-two bars at certain campsites and along the first part of the driveway. There is very limited cell service at this site but up the Blue Quartz Trail near Wizard Rock AT&T and Verizon have full coverage. There is no cell service at the farm store and I only receive texts from iPhone users, so please email if you need me. My cell is 434-365-4277 If you would like help transporting your gear, please setup an appointment 24 hours in advanced if possible. The fee to transport is $10 and covers check in and departure. I apologize for the driveway's we are still fully under construction and will eventually have the driveway completely redone as well as a circle, where the lane you come in will be one-way traffic. It is narrow and for 1/4 mile there is nowhere to pass a vehicle. The road is gravel and has hills but ANY vehicle can make it. FARM STORE HOURS: 730AM-9AM and BY APPOINTMENT We offer our Animal Welfare Approved Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork and Lamb. Local seasonal produce, plus wool products from our sheep, a small grocery with many local items, artwork, keepsakes from SNP, guidebooks and essential camping. If you would like any of our rental equipment (tents, hammock tents, tent setup, camp stoves, sleeping pad, essential cooking items, etc.) please book ASAP. Sparrow Camp does not come with split wood. You are welcome to pick up downed wood and sticks from the surrounding area. We do provide firewood delivered to your campsite. Approximately 10 pieces for $5. Also, we have special instructions if you are bringing a pet, emotional support or service animal on the farm, so please tell us in advanced. Thanks! Jen
