영천시 공예촌 캠핑체험장은 경북 영천시 자양면에 위치했다. 영천시청을 기점으로 영동교사거리와 신망정사거리를 거치면 닿는데, 도착까지 걸리는 시간은 약 35분이다. 이곳은 영천호 주변에 자리했으며, 폐교를 리모델링해 캠핑장을 조성했다. 2개의 학교 건물 중 하나는 관리소와 매점 등 캠핑 관련 부대시설로 채웠으며, 나머지 하나는 예술가들의 창작활동을 위한 공방으로 꾸몄다. 널찍한 운동장에 마련한 일반야영장 46면은 파쇄석으로 이뤄졌고, 사이트 크기는 가로 8m 세로 10m다. 장작이 가능할 뿐만 아니라 사계절 내내 운영하고 있다는 것도 장점이다. 관리소에서 릴선, 화로대, 난방기구, 식기, 침낭 등 캠핑 용품 대여도 해준다. 소형견에 한해 반려견 동반 입장도 가능하다. 캠핑장 인근에 영천호, 보현산천문대 등의 여행지가 있어 연계관광이 용이하다. 자동차로 5분 거리 안에 음식점도 많다.
