The City of Nottingham is just a few miles away and there is a regular bus service close by\.Thornton's Holt accomodates tents, caravans and motorhomes on 155 spacious pitches on 14 acres of landscaped grassland\. We have 120 electric hook ups and our pitches are available as grass or double width hardstandings\. There are washroom facilities, an indoor heated swimming pool, a childrens play area, washing up areas, a laundry, ice blocks freezer, and a small shop on site\. Free WIFI is available in our reception area\. Most importantly we have plenty of fresh air and space for the children to run round \- bikes are welcome\. Just over the road is The Shepherds Pub & Carvery, and also the bus stop with a frequent service to West Bridgford, Nottingham & Cotgrave\. We have hardstandings and grass pitches available for motorhomes, caravans and tents so make the most of the nice weather and come to Thornton's Holt to relax and unwind\. Our reception staff are available to take bookings between 9 and 5 Monday to Friday, and between 10 and 3 on Sundays\.Our FacilitiesWe have an indoor heated swimming pool, a small shop, laundry, washroom facilities and large childrens play area \(under 12 years\) which are all open every day throughout the summer\. The Swimming PoolOur heated indoor Swimming Pool is open from 9\.30 \- 5\.15pm each day from the beginning of April to the end of October\. There are four swimming session per day, each lasting for 1 1/2 hours\. So every one can enjoy their swim the number of people in the pool is limited\. On warm days the pool can be popular, so tickets can be bought up to 24 hours in advance from the shop\.Private Pool HireThe pool is available for private bookings between 6pm and 7pm at a cost of £30\. You can book this in advance when you book your pitch\. We also have a comfortable and cosy holiday cottage, The Annex\. It is available for long weekends, mid week and week long stays\.The AnnexThe Annex is a comfortable self contained holiday property situated at the heart of Thornton's Holt The property sleeps four people, with one double and one twin bedroom\. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need including a microwave, fridge and an electric hob / oven\. It is open plan to the lounge featuring french doors opening onto a decked seating area and a quiet private garden\. The Annex is double glazed and has gas central heating with instant hot water\. We provide all bed linen and towels within the listed prices\. Whilst you are staying in the Annex you are welcome to use the facilities of our carefully landscaped camping park\. During the summer months we have a small shop on site, a children’s playground and indoor swimming pool \(additional charge applies\)\. The park is beautifully maintained and there are free range hens wandering around and lots of wildlife\. The Annex is available for long weekends, mid week breaks and longer stays throughout the year\. This former colliery site has been extensively re\-developed with good access tracks suitable for walking, cycling and pushchairs\. It's a great place to tire out the children or for walking dogs\. The Grantham Canal passes thorough the park and continues on into the Vale of Belvoir\. The National Watersports Centre is under a mile from Thornton's Holt\. It host regular watersports events and is a good place for walking and cycling\.Local AttractionsSherwood Forest Vistor Centre is just north of Nottingham, about 20\-25 minutes drive from Thornton's Holt\. The forest is a great place for walking and cycling\. GO APE is at the Sherwood Pines Forest Park\. This is a high wire adventure trail through the trees\. A challenge for teenagers and brave adults\! Younger children enjoy The White Post Farm Park and Ferry Farm Park\. Twin Lakes and Wheelgate are popular local theme parks for younger children\.
