# Queensberry Bay Holiday Park

> Human version: https://campertunity.com/listings/campgrounds/queensberry-bay-holiday-park-annan-cumbria

Queensberry Bay is a family run caravan park on the coast in Scotland, just half an hour from Carlisle and specialising in total relaxation breaks \.\.\.Touring & CampingAt Queensberry Bay we're different \.\.\.We remember our roots, and our touring guests \- that's you\! \- are important to us \.\.\.We're not the big guys \- we don't hide behind a veil of "corporate responsibility" \(or lack of it\) \- we're a family owned and run park\. What you see is what you get \- except perhaps for the frantic paddling behind the scenes sometimes when things don't go quite as planned\.And every one of us cares\.That's why we put so much effort into our welcome, our staff training, our gardens, our luxury showers, our modern laundry and drying room and our Campers' Kitchen \- a lovely dry place for a cup of tea and with the best views around\! \[view our full list of Park Facilities\]For our touring guests, whether in caravans, camper vans or pitching a tent \- we have 5 specific areas\. These are covered briefly below – but see our Access Statement for more information;OUR SHORESIDE TOURING PITCHESOur Shoreside Pitches are what it says on the tin \- they're on the shores of the Solway Firth\. These are our premium pitches and they come with superb and uninterrupted views of the Solway and beyond to the Cumbrian Fells\.They’re the closest thing we have to hard standing, are well spaced \(guests sometimes ask us which way they have to face\. Where does that come from then?? We always say you can park forwards, backwards or sideways on \- so long as you’re happy\!\), are clearly designated and are fully serviced with water and electric hook up included in \(not added onto\!\) the price we quote\.Families are welcome on Shoreside pitches 1 to 3\.OUR FIELDSIDE TOURING PITCHES \- ADULT ONLYOur Fieldside pitches are our situated towards the back of the Park and look over the surrounding countryside towards the Queensberry hills and come with superb up close and personal views of the animals in pets corner\.Be warned \- you will be visited by Eric and his chums looking for conversation and gingernuts\. Electric hook up is included in the nightly price and a water tap is located on the Fieldside area\.Our Fieldside pitches are for adults only and tend to be rather quieter than Shoreside or Kiddies Corner\.OUR KIDDIES' CORNER \- FAMILY PITCHESParks tend to evolve over the years to fit their customers’ needs, and we’re no different\. Most of our guests it must be said are couples of a certain age and our regular visitors tend to come here precisely because they know that Queensberry Bay has no facilities for teenagers or younger adults \(unless of course they want peace and quiet that is \. \. \. \)We do however welcome well behaved children and have specific areas of the park set aside for them \- we have the 3 Shoreside pitches \(above\) and we have 3 pitches next to the Football area that we call our Kiddies’ Corner\.Electric hook up is included in the nightly price and there is a water tap nearby\.OUR NON\-ELECTRIC PITCHESNon\-electric pitches are cheaper than Shoreside, Fieldside or Kiddies Corner pitches and are located on softer, tent\-peg\-friendly ground\.They don’t have the views of either Shoreside or Fieldside, but suit those on a budget\. We have just 3 non\-electric pitches \- so it's always best to book\.OUR HIKER'S PITCHESBeing on the SUSTRANS 7 route, we actively promote cycling and walking and offer these budget pitches for any hikers or cyclists who want to pitch their one\-man tent for the night \(or longer of course\)\.In addition to our modern laundry facilities we also have a drying room \- so if you're unlucky enough to get caught in one of our showers, you can at least set off in the morning with dry clothes\! These pitches come with neither water nor electric\. They really are hiking pitches for the seasoned camper\.Seasonal Touring PitchesStay for longer at Queensberry Bay Holiday Park\!Sometimes our guests simply don't want to leave \.\.\.If you have a touring caravan \(length restrictions apply\) and want to stay for more than our standard 14 nights \- then please ask about our Seasonal Touring Pitches\. Season touring covers any booking from 1 to 12 months in a calendar year and is great value for money\!We have a range of seasonal touring areas \- from the sheltered pitches behind our static caravan holiday park, through to our premium seasonal touring sites with their superb sea views across the Bay\.Be warned though \- our seasonal touring pitches are highly sought after and vacancies don’t come up too often \- but waiting lists can vary across the season, so the sooner you contact us the better\!Glamping HolidaysGlamping \(= camping with a bit of glamour\!\) and wigwams at Queensberry Bay Holiday Park in South West Scotland \.\.\.Our glamping units are timber built, fully insulated and heated mini log cabins\. They're sited at various points on the park and Glamping 1 is on one of our Shoreside touring pitches with uninterrupted sea views across the Bay\.Glamping units and wigwams were originally designed for walkers, hikers and cyclists in the Highlands \- where they're a welcome break after a day's struggling against the elements\!At Queensberry Bay Holiday and Touring Park, our glamping units and the Wigwam are popular with all manner of guests \- from serious walkers, hikers and cyclists to parents wanting to introduce the family to camping\.Our glamping units aren’t necessarily plumbed in and they don’t come with all mod cons \- it really is camping with a touch of luxury \- and a touch of warmth of course\!Self Catering Caravan and Lodge Hire at Queensberry Bay Holiday Park \.\.\.Whether you’re looking for a short stay to get a taste of the Dumfries and Galloway area, one of our superb spa mini breaks to rediscover that elusive inner peace, a golf mini break to blow away the cobwebs in the fresh air or a longer stay for your main holiday, we will be delighted to welcome you to one of our luxury self\-catering caravans or holiday lodges\.What's available? We're constantly upgrading our fleet, which is great for you \- as it means the unit you stay in will always be modern and stylish \- and great for our park as it means we’re seeing fresh faces\.Here's a typical letting unit profile:2 bedrooms \- one double or king2 toilets \- one ensuite and one with showerA deck or other external seating area with chairsAlongside parkingSpacious pitchCentral heatingDouble glazingSuperior winterised packLuxury contents packPampering Spapampering @ powfoot is a truly unique concept in relaxation and overall mind and body stress management\.Why so unique?Well, there's the location for one thing \- with spectacular views over the Solway Firth and Cumbria beyond\.Then there's the building itself \- a superb Finnish log cabin bathed in natural dappled light and with an integrated sound system so you can relax to your own choice of soothing musicOr how about the privacy \- the whole building is available only for private hire, there's no danger of having to share the spa at any time with a total stranger \- book it and it's yours\.But so much more than all this is the facility itself:a Traditional Steam Sauna for cleansing away all those stress\-induced toxinsa Spa Pool \- \(an 8 x 14 feet Spa\) for power swimming against the current \- or just for bobbing along at your own pace and to your favourite soundtrack, anda Hot Tub outside on the veranda \- ideal for those Starlight Specials \- just you, the moonlight and the music \- and your choice of company of course\!And if that’s not enough, there’s a whole range of packages and specials for our guests and owners to choose from \- so whether you want a full scale pamper half day or an hour and a quarter alone with your thoughts, it’s all here\.Caravan & Holiday Park FacilitiesWhat You'll Find at Queensberry Bay \.\.\.If we've learned one thing over the years we've been at Queensberry Bay it's that as a business you can't stand still\. You have to keep looking ahead for the next improvement, the next adventure\.Otherwise you're taking your owners and regular customers for granted – and that's unforgivable\.That's why, every year, we make sure we've done something, introduced something new, improved something \- so that our owners and regular guests will feel appreciated\. And they are\!So, yes \- we have everything that you'd expect of a top end 4 star park \- and then some\!We have our small, licenced and well stocked shop but we also make bacon rolls and coffee to die for and we sell a range local produce and gifts\. In season we can provide shopping to order including fresh fruit and veg – see our Welcome Home Hamper selection\.We also try very hard to keep our prices are as low as they can possibly be\. We can’t compete with Tesco – who can? But in our own small way we feel we’re doing what we can for our guests in a tough climate\. Anyone can sell Mars Bars at 95p and above \- but we wouldn't go back and we're sure you wouldn't eitherWe have the best showers you're ever likely to find and it's not us saying that, it's our guests\. We spent all that money on showers because touring is the life blood of this park and why should our tourers feel second best? Our Campers Kitchen may be basic \- but it’s warm and dry and has the best view you’re likely to find \- and again it’s not us saying that\. Why did we put the kitchen in such a prime spot? Because touring and camping is important to us\.Free wi\-fi \* to all guestsNight skies that stretch to the horizon and beyondAnd our spa is out of this world\! And yes, even we say that\! Why did we put a spa on a holiday park? Because we believe that relaxation, well being and pampering should be available to all \- not just the privileged few who can afford the likes of a 5 star hotel\!Pampering isn't the only thing we offer though to make your stay with us as relaxing as possible\.We also do all we can behind the scenes to remove those niggling little things that can so easily spoil your peace and quiet \- we cut grass only on weekdays, for example, and only then between specific hours; we have specific policies on noise and unacceptable behaviour; we have a no ball games policy around the caravans and other units \- see our Self\-catering Terms & Conditions \(PDF format, 76kb\) AND / OR the Touring and Camping Terms & Conditions \(PDF format, 84kb\) ; and we deliberately have no pub, clubhouse or gaming roomsA bit old fashioned perhaps, but we make no apologies for that \- and if you‘re looking for tranquillity, total relaxation and beautiful scenery, we have everything here you could need\.\* We give all our Touring, Camping, Glamping and Self\-catering visitors an access code entitling them to 200mb of free wifiThings To Do in Dumfries and GallowayThe most stunning thing about Queensberry Bay Holiday Park is our location in south west Scotland\.Often bypassed by those seeking the beauty of the Highlands on the one hand, or the stunning views of the Lake District on the other, we are just half an hour from the busy border city of Carlisle but could be a million miles away\!We are just along the coast from the internationally renowned Caerlaverock Castle and nature reserve\. In season, you can see a spectacular display of wild geese and swans on the Merse\. This proximity to so much wildlife means of course that we have to be more careful than many to ensure that the animals’ habitat and surroundings are preserved\. It is for this reason that our rules on peace and quiet are enforced \- and why our park is not suitable for those looking for anything other than the tranquillity that is Queensberry Bay\.DirectionsUSING SATNAVEnter the postcode DG12 5PN and follow the road along the shore\.Keep going along the coast road, which ends at the main entrance to the park\.Follow signs to Reception\.DIRECTIONS FROM ENGLANDFollow the M6/A74 to Gretna and turn left onto the A75 Stranraer road towards Annan\.Take the second exit to Annan West\.
