Although close to the town it is a quiet peaceful spot with a wealth of mature oaks, willows and poplars as well as a lovely view at the back of the site over the Gironde estuary and the shrimp nets\. It is a good spot for an overnight stop as well as longer stays\. The site is always full during the second week of September when the "Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc et des Graves" is held\. At the end of September and beginning of October, a large part of the site is occupied by grape pickers\.
