And Brian hit the perfect balance of being welcoming and informative while also giving you space and privacy.\n\nMy dog LOVED being able to wander the island off-leash and I loved hearing the roar of the water instead of the roar of engines chasing the Dragon nearby. We absolutely loved our stay at the Island Site. Brian has put so much time and love into these camp sites. We will definitely be back. When we camped in early May, no issues with mosquitos, but bring some repellant as it gets warmer would be safe. Bring some dry kindling for your fire. This is a very tropical area, so everything on the ground is always a bit moist. Campsite was immaculate with amazing setting next to a beautiful stream which provides great background noise, not that any is needed because it is very private. The water also helps keep the surrounding air cooler as it was at least 5-10 degrees cooler than Robbinsville which is 20 minutes away. Met the owner Brian who is a skilled carpenter and it shows in the work he has done to the campsite. Outhouse only (very clean), bring your own water and wood.
