There are rolling fields and meadows surrounding the open camping area with great views and wide-open skies for stargazing at night. Wood was available for the fire pit, and even a cooler with cold water. We appreciated how quiet and peaceful the surroundings were. There are hiking paths mowed around the fields so there’s plenty to explore, with native plants and flowers to enjoy. We enjoyed hearing the occasional cow or sheep in the pasture nearby. it was very quiet and we weren’t disturbed, just enjoyed our time! We ventured into Menominee not far away for a hike on the Red Cedar River and stop at a brewpub. We had a great time and our dogs appreciated not being in a busy campground! We will be back.
