Since the Dutch settlers arrived, a road has been built, making it possible to drive to just below the top of the highest mountain and enjoy the fantastic views\. On a clear day, you can see almost as far as Besalú, a medieval village that has hardly changed since 800\. A beautiful Romanesque bridge over the Fluvia River connects this town with the eastern bank of the river, one of whose many streams originates at Manso Coguleras\. The city of Gerona, with its old town and beautiful cathedral, is about 40 km away\. The city of Figueras, home to the Salvador Dalí museum, is also 40 km away\. Manso Coguleras has seen a lot of development\. The swimming pond has been turned into a swimming pool\. The former fully equipped bungalow tents have been replaced by cabins, wooden log cabins, and camping sites\. In 2002, the usual access road that went straight through the river was changed to a crossing via the bridge\.
