Adjacent to the park are the RSPB bird reservation, the "Galloway Kite Trail" and the Galloway Forest Park which offers our visitors many opportunities to walk, climb, cycle and bird watch\.The campsite occupies ten acres on the boundary of the Bryson family, six hundred acre stock farm\. The fishing is excellent, many fishermen return each year to catch the famous Loch Ken pike, roach and perch\.Parton is in the centre of Galloway with the delightful market "food town" of Castle Douglas, seven miles away, and the "art town" of Kirkcudbright fifteen miles away\.Among pursuits enjoyed on the Park and Loch Ken are fishing, sailing, water skiing and walking\. There are a number of bird sanctuaries, 'open' farms, countryside parks and forest walks, 7Stanes mountain biking, golf courses \(nine and eighteen holes\), plus many museums, craft workshops, galleries and other attractions to enjoy\.DirectionsLoch Ken Holiday Park is situated on the shores of Loch Ken in one of the most beautiful areas in South West Scotland\.From Stranraer: take the A75 heading toward Dumfries, for approximately 24 miles, turn left at the A712 and continue to New Galloway \(17\.2 miles\)\. Turn left at A762/High Street and follow the road which continues as the A712\. As you go over the Ken Bridge you will come to the A713 junction, turn right and follow the road for approximately 6 and a half miles, you will see Loch Ken Holiday Park signposted on the right\.From Carlisle: take the A75 heading toward Stranraer, for approximately 18\.8 miles going through 6 roundabouts\. Turn right at the B795 and continue for 2\.6 miles, turn right on to the A713 and continue for approximately 4\.5 miles, as you just start to go out of Parton you will see Loch Ken Holiday Park signposted to your left\.From Ayr: take the A713 heading south for approximately 42 miles, going through 3 roundabouts\. You will see Loch Ken Holiday Park signposted to your right\.
