Our site had a pretty nice lake view, but the sites are not private at all. It was a short trail walk up to the Discovery Center which had live animal displays — desert tortoise, diamondback rattlesnake, Gila monster, and fish. This park, like all the Maricopa Regional Parks, offers a variety of ranger-led activities and presentations (check their website for park-specific programs.) Shout-out to Ranger Cody, who obviously loved his many jobs here. There is a large marina at this park which has a store and a cafe (we did not visit either.) There are miles of well-maintained multi-use trails in the park. The bathrooms were clean, with huge push-button showers and lots of hot water. Good OATV reception.
