Often if the campground at Cradle Mountain is full this campground can offer a good alternative, but you must be fully self-sufficient by carrying your own firewood and drinking water. Turn west off the Cradle Mountain Rd C132, 1 km south of Moina. Follow a dirt road to just before a white bridge, where you will find an unshaded open paddock where you can camp both immediately before the bridge on the left-hand side, and immediately to the right just over the bridge. Please note this camping location is suitable only for fully self-sufficient campers, as there are no facilities. There is a great campsite at Lake Gairdner just before the white bridge with a welcome sign. Here you can simply relax, fish, or go kayaking. Remember, however, you need to be fully self-sufficient to camp at Lake Gairdner.
