There is, however, potable water, and the campsites are easy to access and relatively flat\. Past our property, the unpaved, and very rough, section of Jones Bar Rd continues down into the South Yuba River canyon for about 2 miles, to a lovely swimming hole\. Bicycling and hiking are very popular activities in this area\. If you are bringing your dog with you on your travels, you will want to be aware of the many unpleasant sticker weeds that are prevalent everywhere around here\. Foxtails, filaree, and hitch\-hiker weeds will all find their way into your dog’s fur\. The farm is about 6 miles from both Nevada City and Grass Valley\.
