Sandy Springs Farms, located in Hinton, Oklahoma, is dedicated to raising premium buffalo and beef with integrity, care, and respect for the land\. Their animals roam freely across rolling green hills—never confined to feedlots—and are nourished with grass, hay, and a natural low\-protein feed\. No hormones, growth stimulants, or animal by\-products are ever used, reflecting their commitment to ethical and responsible farming\. The Stepp family began with just 40 acres and six buffalo in a more urban setting before expanding to their present\-day ranch outside Hinton\. Today, the farm spans wide\-open pastureland designed to support a healthy, thriving herd\. James Stepp takes pride in carefully diversifying and strengthening his herd, often traveling significant distances to maintain the health and quality of his heritage breeding stock\. As a trusted source for Oklahoma\-raised buffalo meat, Sandy Springs Farms combines sustainable practices with a passion for excellence—delivering wholesome, naturally raised meat that customers can feel confident serving at their table\. Several years ago Stormy was a rescue buffalo that got his name after being abandoned by his mother in the middle of an ice storm\. They brought him to their house and hand raised him with Stormy’s closest friend, besides James Stepp, was one of the family's dogs named Bear\. They also have had renowned Chefs come and facilitate dinners on their Farm
