Facilities were tired and not clean. Copwebs and dead bugs in the ladies shower area. Tons of hotch potch outbuildings with lots of pots and random items lying around give the whole place a messy and slovenly appearance. No hot water on the first morning we stayed. We were promised access to a fridge and freezer but couldn’t find them as nobody was there to check us in or out or indeed show us where anything was! We were blamed for not being able to find them when we addressed this with the owner. Our lamps in the tent were not working, the bbq and table were dirty. The photos on their website portray a far more glamorous experience than is the reality of it all. Staff were all lovely and the facilities were very good. Coffee was pretty good and the little shop had many essentials. Whilst pitch sizes are good, they are pretty regimented with no separation or privacy from others. When full, it feels full! The field isn’t huge! Great family atmosphere just not escapism camping. The pitches are good sized and the facilities clean. There’s a wonderful coffee/pastry van in the mornings and we took advantage of Myrtle the turtles pizza on site for our Saturday meal! The location is close to beautiful forest and river site - we did some lovely cycling and paddleboarding - and there are nice pubs, but of course the local horses and donkeys were the firm favourite attraction for our 2 year old!!" } ] }
