We are constantly reminded of how lucky we are to live in such a rural spot with the diversity of the wildlife\. In any one day you could see deer tracking, all sorts of bee's and butterfly's\. Often many birds of prey such as red kites, buzzards and owls can be seen hunting\. The nature within the village of Elsing fortunatly attracts the sort of resident that can live alongside natural and respect how our living here could impact upon it\. Whist walks and bike rides in the area can be littered with little gems of locally run amenities\. If you do decide to venture out in the car you are only 30 minuets away from the coast\. Due to where we are geographically placed in Norfolk you are spoilt for choice of beaches of all varieties\. Whether you are after a 99 on Cromer pier, a day trip out to Southwold, seal watching at winterton \(please always respect the seals they are wild animals\) or some of the more secluded spots around the coast all within a short drive\. The broads are also within reach for day trips\. Norwich is a thriving city with an amazing arts and music culture, we highly recommend spending a day here\. It is a beautifully well thought out conversion; with lovely attention to detail and thought to guests’ comfort in mind.\nFor me and my girls it was the perfect off-grid retreat, open space, peaceful- but still really comfortable with a fully functioning kitchen, clean bathroom, comfy beds, a hammock swing, fairy lights for evening magic and a fab fire pit for the camping-feel smores. Dixie is set in a beautiful wildmeadow field with open fields around and small country lanes to slowly walk/drive through. Would have loved an extra few days to explore these lanes and surrounding villages more, but for us it was an opportunity to reset and unwind after a crazy year of school. Would happily escape here again!
