Access requires picking up a key from the Canadian Campground Gatehouse during booth hours \(11 a\.m\. to 9 p\.m\.\)\. The shores feature eastern cottonwood, post and blackjack oak, black willow, buttonbush, and roughleaf dogwood\. Roman Nose and Glass Mountains State Parks are about 30 minutes away, and a disc golf course is available 12 miles away at Big Bend Recreation Area\.
