We really enjoyed the views both during the day and the nighttime. You get a panoramic view from the top that covers both lake Matthews and lake Elsinore. It’s quite spectacular and one of the prettiest camp sites I’ve stayed at! \n\nWe stayed on March 17-19th and really enjoyed the wild flower blooms right on the property. You can also walk or drive to the entire preserve for even more! \n\nOne piece of advice I’d give future campers is that some of the 4x4 trials are pretty narrow if you are in a full size truck. After the rains that came the week before our stay, the camber on some of them slopes off to a big drop off around Estelle mountain. We had to back down about half a mile as it became to sketchy for us! It was an adventure for sure. Others look more do-able. Just do a bit of research on the trails before you go. \n\nThere are certainly a lot of coyotes around, and you can hear them howl! All part of the charm of the site for us:) \n\nThanks for a great stay! Only two dirt bikers came by our site during our stay, one stopped to chat and was friendly and soon after was on his way. Most of the dirt biking is way off in the distance. The views from this site were incredible! You can see two lakes, snowy mountains, and gorgeous green rolling hills. Though it is dispersed (no restrooms) it was the exact camping experience we were hoping for. The driveway up is definitely intimidating but is certainly doable in 4x4 as the host put in her description. Would recommend to all my friends with trucks and 4WD.
